Nakhon Si Thammarat National Museum occupies the area of the former Wat Suan Luang Tawan Ok. The museum was opened in 1974 and displays artifacts found in the 4 southern provinces of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Surat Thani, and Chumphon. Of particular interest are the local handicrafts display room. Associated with the Museum is the local branch of the national library. There is a good collection of rare and important books sent by the National Library in Bangkok.
Regretfully, this Museum has succumbed to the plight of a zero photo policy. For your money you can look, but not click.
Note, the official Thai tourism website, as at this date, has confused the national museum with the city museum (common error).
