The Museum's website (visit link) informs us:

"The opening of the new 6.35 acre Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum on Cannon Drive in 1999 heralded new opportunities to build on the Academy’s legacy of scientific inquiry, offering the public much more than dioramas and taxidermied animals. Complete with permanent exhibitions including a Butterfly Haven, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum became an interactive experience for adults and children alike."

Permanent exhibits include a butterfly haven, "birds of Chicago", a waterplay experience called "River Works", "Mysteries of the Marsh", "Extreme Greenhouse", etc. There are also outdoor exhibits surrounding the exterior of the Museum including a restored native prarie and a compost corral.

Admission Fees: Adults – $9 Students and Seniors age 60+ – $7 Children ages 3-12 – $6 Children under 3 – Free Hours of operation: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please note, the last admission ticket is sold at 4 p.m. on weekdays and 4:30 p.m. on weekends. Visit Instructions:
There will be no requirement for posting a visit; but a photo of you with your GPS or just your GPS somewhere on the museum grounds or in the museum would be fun. Preferrably at the entrance or near the museum sign. Actually going IN the museum is also NOT required for posting a log.
