Long Description:
The Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge is a national scenic treasure complete with river, backwaters, islands and forests framed by 500 foot high bluffs. The Great River Road National Scenic Byway hugs the refuge on each side.

Refuge Facts:
- 50% of the world's Canvasback ducks stop on the refuge during fall migration.

- 40% of the North America's waterfowl use the river flyway during migration.

- 20% of the eastern United States population of Tundra Swans visit the refuge during fall migration.
