In all probability, The Bell will be a reference to the church.

In the case of The Bell in the singular, there may be a connection to the catholic faith. Many catholic churches have a single bell. The tradition of churches having more than one bell or a peel seems to be a British thing.

Sadly, this is another off of the Greene King 'painting by numbers' production line.
