The beach is nearly 3 miles long and beside swimming and sunbathing it offers volleyball, handball, basketball and fishing on the peer.
Other attractions are the Luna Park Amusement and the New York Aquarium.
From Manhattan, we took the Q train and we got to Coney Island in less than 1 hour.
Even in May the beach was quite crowded but we were there during the weekend. While walking along the beach, we found quieter spots at a distance from the pier. Good advice would be to visit Coney Island Beach during a weekday.
We enjoyed this nice break from a busy three-day visit to Manhattan.
Admission is free and there is more than one entrance to the beach.
The coordinates were taken on the boardwalk in front of the pier, close to the Parachute Jump structure.
