This bronze sculpture has three instruments: drums, trumpet, and saxophone.
Jazz is a large bronze sculpture of three jazz musicians. The first man is bending over, playing his saxophone. The middle musician is standing tall, leaning slightly backward as he blows the horn held above his head. The third man, on the right, is wearing a bowtie. He is sitting as he plays the drums, and is looking slightly upward. Only the first man wears a hat.
The musicians are placed very close to each other, and the drummer's legs slightly wrap in front of the middle musician's feet. The two plaques can be found on the left side of the sculpture. A concrete foundation, about 2 1/2 feet tall, is under the bronze sculpture.
Be sure to check out the sidewalk in front of the Jazz Lab for the stars honoring musicians.
The Jazz Lab partners with Hideaway Pizza next door, so that's a great place to stop and have lunch. If you come for a Jazz Show you can order Hideaway and they bring it over to you.
Stephenson Park is located next door, and the Edmond Jazz and Blues Festival is held there.
An inscription by the artist can be found on the back side of the sculpture, by the base:
