The Bøyabreen Glacier is an arm of the Jostedalsbreen Glacier. It lies to the north and west of Sogndal, near Fjærland. There are excellent views of it from the main highway, Route 5. From the parking area it's a few minutes walk to the viewing area. Sometimes huge chunks of ice cleave from the glacier and fall into the melt pool below. For this reason you are not allowed down by the melt pool or onto the glacier. You must stay at the designated viewing area (apparently cows are exempt - see photo). This glacier is not far from the Norwegian Glacier Museum in Sogndal.
