The church of St Nicholas, Silton, has four gargoyles at the level of the tower's roof. They are all well weathered and their appearance is somewhat distorted by the half sections of lead pipe protruding from their mouths. Could be there was a problem with the initial design or the weathering has affected the effects of shedding the water away from the building.
