Although not the oldest established church, this is the oldest church building in the outlying districts of Bradford.

It was originally called Wibsey Chapel, even though it’s quite a way outside Wibsey. The site is roughly equidistant from Royds Hall, the home of the Rookes, and Bierley Hall, the home of the Richardsons – local gentry families. Apparently the church was chiefly endowed by William Rookes.

Inside the church are a number of ornamented gravestones dedicated to members of the Rookes family.

The church as it stands to-day is much larger than its original size. It has been modified and enlarged a number of times. The belfry tower was added in 1836, 200 years after the church was consecrated to the Holy Trinity.

When Wibsey became a parish in 1866, this church became Holy Trinity, Low Moor.

The church underwent major refurbishment in 2009.
