A surprisingly pleasant find. The "Coffee More" supplies good coffee in a comfortable environment, with cake. It is run by a local lady, and is adjacent to the leading hotel in the region (the "CS Pattani Hotel", recommended). From what I can see, this is the best in the town.

The cafe is on the main road leading into the town of Pattani. Small, seating for a dozen plus people inside, another half dozen outside. There is a kitchen at the back which produced a tasty range of cake and pastries, creme brulee for example. I gather that the kitchen sells to other eateries. The food on offer is limited to cakes and pastries, nothing more substantial. Nid noi Angkrit (little spoken English), but the menu is bi-lingual. No wifi.


ADVISORY: For the last few years and decades there has been an ongoing insurgency in the Muslim populated provinces of Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat (the 'deep south' of Thailand). An average of 600 people (out of a pop. of 1.6 million) have been killed per year between 2004-9. The Australian government strongly urges its citizens not to visit these provinces: "do not travel". Having said all of this there is no blood on the streets, and life goes on normally for the vast majority of people. You have been advised.
