This is a very neat old school currently being used as an Inn. I'm glad to see they saved some of the very old buildings on this street.

The marker on the building reads:

The Washington School was constructed in 1889 at an estimated cost of $13,000, replacing an earlier school on this same site. The limestone used in its construction was quarried at Peoa, approximately 10 miles to the northeast. The building originally contained three rooms, each 30 by 30 feet. This was the first of three schools constructed in Park City during the late 1880s and early 1890s, and it is the only one still standing. It is also one of the few remaining buildings which survived the Great Fire of June 19, 1898. It served as a public school from 1889 to 1931, at which time it was closed down, apparently due to declining enrollments. In 1985, it was renovated and rededicated as the Washington School Inn.
