This bright warm quilt block glows under a small overhang on top of the Kreft family’s white barn. “Hens & Chickens” is one of more than 55 barn quilts found in Sac County. It was painted by the Phil Hesnard family and sits back a bit on Rolf Avenue (M54) south of Sac City. It is listed as #3 on the Sac County Barn Quilt map.
