The compass rose stands outside the Lloyd's Building in London. It appears to be made from granite and is about 2m (7ft) in diameter. The major cardinal points (N, E, S & W) are clearly marked around the edge in white. The quarter points are also marked but are not as prominent. The top shows the "compass card". Its alignment is true, in that north points to north. Around the body is the text "One Lime Street".
