Virgin is a small town of about 400 inhabitants on Utah Highway 9 about 20 miles west of Zion National Park.

Virgin, originally called Virgin City to distinguish it from the Virgin River, was first settled by Mormons in 1857. By 1864 it had grown to a town of almost 350 people. In the interim it has declined to a low of about 120 in the 1970s and then returned to its former size in the 1990s.
