Circleville is a small town of about 500 inhabitants in the southwest corner of Piute County.

Circleville is named for the circle of mountain ranges that surround it. Originally settled in 1864 at the direction of Brigham Young, it was abandoned in 1866 due to depradations by the local Native Americans and remained empty until after the Blackhawk War ended and it was re-established in 1874.
