Annabella was named after the first two children born in the town; Ann and Isabella. It's a good thing their names weren't Ferdinand and Elizabeth or Utah might now have a town named Ferdeliza!! Originally Richfield was named Omni and Annabella was Omni Point, named for the raised point of land that juts out near the town.

Omni Point was settled in 1871 as a farming community and has remained such to the present day. Like so many of the small agricultural towns in the area, growth in population has been small and gradual, usually descendents of the original settler families and their offspring.
