Three Rocks trail winds through the lower montane community, providing views of the Jordanelle wetlands. You will see many plant and animal species which are important to the web of life in these communities. These include sagebrush, Indian paint brush, chipmunk, cottontail rabbits, mule deer, bald eagles, and golden eagles. Rattlesnakes and mountain lions also live in the area.
The trail is situated above the tree canopy. This makes an excellent observatory for migrating birds and wintering eagles as well as the interaction of other plants and animals in their natural habitat.
Three Rocks trail is a moderate 1/2 mile(round trip) hiking trail. Although the trail may be difficult in some parts, the spectacular views make the hike worth the effort.
