At the northwest corner at the intersection of Powell Street and Pine Street in San Francisco, CA stands a sculpture of what appears to be a penguin parent with two growing chicks. The scupture is about 15 feet above street level, and is best viewed from the opposite corner or across the street. Not sure how to get to the sculpture close enough to see it up close. It is at the back of the Renaissance Standford Court Hotel, but in an open area at the corner of the block that has very high retaining walls preventing direct access to the penguins. The rock appears to be either a fine grained dark gray marble.
