Satun is one of the far southern provinces of Thailand, ~900kms south of the busy metropolis of Bangkok. The capital (and only) city of the province, also named Satun, has no more than 50,000 people and could be described as charmingly rustic. The main industries of the province involve rubber plantations and a small amount of tourism. Tourists head not to the city, but to the beaches and islands in or near Satun province.

This court house is some distance from the provincial hall (uncommon). In design it follows the normal style of provincial court houses. It is not a new building, but is in good repair.
