About the only way to "Get Your Kicks on Route 66" in Goffs these days is to pay a visit to the restored Goffs Schoolhouse and Museum. It helps one relive the glory days when Goffs was an active mining center.

During World War II there were several Army desert training camps in the immediate area of Goffs. If allowed off base for short periods of time, the soldiers would been limited in their choice of places to visit and Goffs was probably the most convenient.
