The "new" Sutton library opened in 1975. It shares the same building as the Civic Centre and the Sutton College of Liberal Arts. It was really "space age" when it first opened but by the 21st century it was looking jaded and dated. In 2004 it was fully refurbished and is once again a great place to visit for books, music and film rentals.
A very dated 70s look from the outside changes when you enter the now very up to date interior. It boasts a cafe and large reading areas and being the largest library in the borough, an extensive collection of new and old books.
Well served by public transport it is easy to reach from all parts of the London Borough of Sutton.
