Fairview Cemetery contains more than 8,300 graves and is located at Tenth and Maiden Lane Ave. at Joplin, Mo. The cemetery is well kept and still in use. It has been in use since the 1870s is one of Joplin's first cemeteries, with many homemade tombstones and old marble tombstones.
According to Findagrave.com, there is one famous person buried at Fairview Cemetery; Percy Wenrich, a rag-time composer, and with his wife Dolly, vaudeville entertainer. He wrote "On Moonlight Bay", which was used in the musical film in 1951 with Doris Day.
There is another Fairview Cemetery in Jasper County, Missouri; the other is a small cemetery near Alba, Mo.
