13-24 Drive In, Wabash, IN - Drive-In Movie Theaters on Waymarking.com

This is a very special waymark for us in Indiana. We have just been able to lite up a dark drive in!!!!

The Beachup family of Wabash purchased the 13/24 Drive In which closed last year early in the season and went up for sale. It looked as if we were doomed to loose another theater. It remained for sale throughout 2010 and 2011 until just this month (June 2011).

The Beachup's have turned operation of the theater over to the Honeywell Center Foundation with proceeds of the operation going to the foundation. This is good news for the foundation has experience operating theaters. They purchased the local downtown vintage theater The Eagle, and have been operating it. Volunteers from the foundation are helping in getting the theater ready. Repairs have already been made to the screen and plans to have the projector and sound system up for the June 10 grand reopening. The property is being all cleaned up and even better than before.

There is a new facebook page for the theater with all sorts of comments from the community wishing the theater good luck in its new rebirth. ( (visit link) ) Pictures are also posted of the repairs as they are being made.
