The window is at the back of the chapel at the First Congregational Church of Christ in Salem, OR, just a few blocks from the state capitol. It is a traditional window made with lead. It has large pieces of painted glass as well as some glass that was made with more than one color. The window has a date of the founding of the church, July 4, 1852, but no date for the window itself. It is dedicated to one of the four who founded the church. Windows like this are not produced as much anymore as it is more labor intensive to paint and then fire the glass before assembling the window. It shows the beautiful artwork and skill of a craft that was once common.
