This station, a National Geodetic Survey standard vertical control disk, is located in New Durham, NH, along the south side of the Henry Wilson Highway (NH Route 11), about 10.45 miles from the Rochester Post Office. It is also located just east from the junction of Quaker Road, and a rail trail crossing.
The station mark is set in bedrock, 54-ft southwest from the center of the road, and 14-ft southwest from a damaged witness post. In addition, it is approximately mid-point between two power poles across the road from it: 180-ft south from pole #31-68, and 150-ft west from pole #31-69.
The disk was in good condition as found. I had the advantage of finding it after a recent recovery by surveyors, as the station had been cleared of overgrowth and detritus, and marked with ribbons, which saved me a lot of time and a possible search with the metal detector. There is a witness marker nearby, but it is in a mutilated state, after getting struck by a brush mower or such, and is partially legible.
At present, OC1076 is not practical for satellite use due to overgrowth surrounding it.
