When I first visited the small city and provincial capital of Krabi, I was told that the town citizens were proud of this new wat. When I visited I could see that it was both new, and enjoyed a new design. The buildings of the traditional Thai wat are white in colour, with lots of gold trim and extensive decoration. This, however, has a much plainer look, while still retaining the overall 'Thai' style, and with no gold. A rather clever development. I was not able to enter the wat as it was closed for a ceremonial purpose.
The Wat is located in the centre of the town, and visible set back from the main road. Easily seen as you walk through the small town.
