To celebrate the millennium the Parish Council commissioned two village signs, one outside the village hall and one on the village green. The signs were designed and built by Brian Gaze of Walsham le Willows.

The sign is made up of several local elements. At the top is the hart of Hertfordshire and below that Holy Trinity Church. To the right of centre is the village beacon, which existed in Napoleonic times, but no longer exists. Also in the centre are the Goat public house, the drinking fountain and the war memorial. At the bottom of the sign is Haileybury school.
