South Werri is tucked behind a headland protecting it from southerly winds. The waves develop in two areas - initially near the headland & then reform closer to the beach. Those near the headland are best accessed by jumping into the surf from the rocks just after a wave has washed over them. The receding wave carries the surfer out & away from danger.

Closer to the beach the waves can be accessed by jumping into a permanent rip & letting it take you out & behind the waves.

There is ample parking all the way along the beach but if you want to watch the action then park at the co-ordinates for this waymark.
