At this particular location you are standing atop an elevated pedestrian walkway at the mouth of the Rouge River as it flows into Lake Ontario. Along the rail line to your north, you can watch various freight trains owned by CN Rail and commuter trains operated by GO Transit as they pass on a regular basis. Although GO Transit carries hundreds of thousands of commuters along this line into Toronto on a daily basis, freight trains have priority as the line is owned by CN (Canadian National Railway). Commuter trains pass by at least once an hour every day of the week including weekends. For the night-owls, you can see a freight train at 12:15 am weekdays - or just drop by during the day.
