Bliss Dance was moved from Treasure Island and placed in in a more permanent location at
The Park between New York-New York and the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bliss Dance is a wire mesh sculpture of a 40 foot woman done by
Marco Cochrane. Inside the wire mesh is a maze of electronics and lights, which are remotely controlled from an iPad application.
Bliss Dance made her first appearance at Burning Man 2010. Bliss dance can be see in this YouTube Video, starting at 2:50. The lighting under control of the iPad application is demonstrated in the video.
After Burning Man, the Treasure Island Development Authority (TIDA) approved the installation of Bliss Dance on Treasure Island. The artwork will be on display beginning May 1, 2011, and will remain until at least October, possibly longer.

Inspired by Joseph Campbell’s call: “Follow your bliss and doors will open where you did not think doors existed”, and entirely self-taught, when Marco started sculpting he realized he was pursuing the mission he'd set for himself...to empower women and bring balance to the world.
Bliss Dance is an original 40-foot sculpture by artist Marco Cochrane. Without the aide of computers, the artist constructed Bliss out of steel rod and tubing utilizing two (2) layers of geodesic triangles, covered by a skin of stainless steel mesh and lit from both inside and outside by 1,000 LED lights controllable by a customized I-Pad application, with spectacular results. Held together by 55,000 welds and supported by six (6), 2.5-inch solid steel rods in the weight bearing ankle. Weighing in at 7000 pounds , Bliss was a manifestation of the artist’s goal to marry the masculine feel of triangles, trusses and steel with the feminine form and spirit.
