On the Chase the cypher of the Earl of Chatham, a peerage created in 1766 for William Pitt the Elder.

On the first reinforce the cypher of George III.

On the first reinforce ring the makers name 'J & H KING' and the date 1809.

On the 2nd reinforce ring the number DCCXLVIII (748)."
