The town of Slick is located about 10 miles southeast of Bristow in Creek County. The town was settled in 1920 when a discovery well was drilled here. It grew rapidly, and the Oklahoma-Southern Railway Company built a railroad line to the town. However, by 1930, the oil was drying up, the town population was dwindling, and the railway company shut down operations to the town.

By the 1970s, however, the beautiful native stone depot was renovated and purchased by First Baptist Church, and it serves as their church building to this day. The building which was constructed in the 1920s is sturdy and has a composition shingle roof. The church has added a steeple to the roof.

First Baptist Church has Sunday service at 10:50am, preceded by Sunday School at 9:45am. Sunday evening study is at 6:00pm. Wednesday at 7:00pm there is Bible Study and prayer, and a worship service.
