Woodlands restaurant in George Town, Penang was a surprise find. It is located in the 'Little India' district. This area has an Indian cultural theme, and is colourful and pleasant in the evening. The restaurant is somewhat subdued in external appearance, but it does have a bright sign above the entrance.

The food is a mix of Indian, Thai, and Malaya. It is also low in cost. Most dishes are between us$1-$2, $5 will buy you a full meal, including a lassi or two (I had three). Spicy food. The menu lists specials and there are different specials for different days. One could eat well here for a considerable period of time. The decor is a dark wood theme. Seating for at most 50 people.

I found the quality of the food very good. Ate way too much. A must visit if you have a day or two in George Town.
