Marker honoring the Pony Express in the town where the operation had its home office and two of the founders lived on the grounds of the Lafayette Country Courthouse in Lexington, Missouri.

The marker has three bronze relief plaques on a stone base. Round plaque had relief busts of the three founders of the Pony Express, Russell, Major, and Waddell and above them is a Pony Express rider on his horse. The large center plaque again has relief busts of the three founders and Pony Express rider along with a map of the various stops along the route. The final plaque has the relief of a Pony Express rider and it has a raised relief of a rope circling historical information.
