The church dates back to before the 13th century and has many interesting features.

The two effigies on the left side of the north aisle are canopied and belonged to an ancient chapel at Ripley. They were brought here for safe-keeping and date to the 13th century. They are made from Purbeck marble.

In the south aisle is a Purbeck stone coffin lid. This was found under the floor in the chancel in 1868. It is thought that it may be part of the coffin of Richard Good who was Vicar in 1529. It has a cross design.

Another small coffin lid can be seen in the south aisle.
