David Hickman
David Hickman lives and works in Dallas, Texas. His association with master artist Octavio Medellin spanned twenty years, going from student, to apprentice, to partner on sculpture projects. In addition, Mr. Hickman taught wood and stone carving classes at the Creative Arts Center in Dallas for ten years.
He works in carved wood and stone, hammered metals, and slumped glass. A skilled sculptor, who not only designs and produces sculpture, he also repairs works of art that are damaged. Clients include the City of Dallas as well as many prominent private collectors. He has received many public and private commissions, including the City of Dallas, the Dallas Area Rapid Transit system (DART), the City of Irving, Texas A & M, Post Properties, the Unitarian Church, Baylor Hospital, St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Dallas Business Committee for the Arts, and Dallas Visual Art Center.
