Very much a fine gentleman, replete with looking glass. In addition, the gentleman is in silhouette on the end wall. The pub dates to at least 1862, when it was owned by one Thomas Brown of Linton, Cambridgeshire. One of 32 public houses in the town.

Interestingly, the sign painter has used the plural Gentlemen in the sign.
