[PT]A classificação de Pousada Histórica Design dada pelas Pousadas de Portugal reflecte a intervenção no conjunto: sobre um convento em ruínas foi realizada uma obra arquitectónica que, baseando-se na herança patrimonial do passado, a reconstruiu à luz das necessidades dos dias de hoje.

O edifício mantém a imagem natural que ostentava nos últimos anos, sem qualquer telhado de cobertura visível do exterior, e com as janelas da fachada apenas com vidro e sem caixilharia aparente, reforçando a ideia de algo parado no tempo. Vêem-se mesmo as ervas crescendo nas coberturas(estas foram revestidas a terra de onde saem plantas como as que antigamente se agarravam ao travejamento em ruínas). O claustro foi mantido sem a inclusão de vidros de protecção. No interior foi mantida a estrutura original das dependências, com decoração apelando a materiais simples e sóbrios. Nalgumas salas sucessivas foram retiradas as portas para criar um espaço contínuo, deixando apenas os respectivos vãos, tendo sido usadas algumas dessas mesmas portas como painéis decorativos colocados nas paredes. Manteve-se na fachada posterior a grande chaminé de granito do antigo refeitório, funcionando o restaurante no espaço da antiga cozinha. Parte do sistema hidráulico montado pelos monges de cister foi preservado, sendo possível observar e ouvir, em vários locais, a água que atravessa o mosteiro.

A Pousada tem 32 quartos, restaurante, bar e esplanada, bem como piscinas para adultos e para crianças.
