Inside the Church History Museum the Grandin Printing Press is displayed. The first 5,000 copies of the Book of Mormon were printing for the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1829-1830 by E.B. Grandin of Palmyra, New York on this "Improved Smith Panented Press." As soon as printing was completed, missionaries began distributing the Book of Mormon.
