This is the Lagoon section of the Farmington Creek Trail System. The Farmington Trail is a 7 ile loop circling Farmington. The lagoon Trail is 2.6 miles of that trail.
This is an easy, paved trail through tall trees and following the Farmington Creak. This nature trail has many species of native trees and brush together with sites of fenced Elk, Buffalo, Horses and Cattle. Note the signs identifying the tree species along the path. Other wildlife including geese, ducks, small birds and mammals may also be observed. Four picturesque bridges cross Farmington Creek as you meander through a serene trail in the heart of the city. Connecting access to the entire Farmington Creek Trail is available at the northerly and southerly termini of this trail.
You can reach the northerly terminus of the trail by traveling south on 200 West from Main Street (at the 600 N. "S" curve) to the cul-de-sac parking. The southerly terminus is at the West end of State Street where it intersects the highway frontage road. Parkingis available. The middle of the trail is also accessible at the west end of 300 North, west of Main Street. Parking is also available at this location.
