Erected in 1922, this pillar formed part of a fountain and memorial to students in World War I and a dedication to the Indian School building itself. The plaque from 1922 identifies this as a fountain. Now it is a memorial with a light on top. The plaques are on the north and south sides of the pillar.
The dedication plaque reads in part:
Established 1891
This fountain and building erected 1922
Charles H. Burke
Commissioner of Indian Affairs.
