The USA pavilion
Construction
The USA pavilion was the biggest circular construction ever built and was flanked by two smaller pavilions equipped with a 1200 seats large theatre and a circarama. An impluvium formed the plastic roof, which had a domeshaped top.
Description
It was the first federal participation of the US.
This pavilion gave the impression of cosiness and relaxation. The main purpose proved to give the visitor a pleasant repose.
There was a national history branch and a department of arts displayed modern arts together with common Indian arts. Also present were the departments of urbanization and the industrial development with a impressive scale-model.
With the departments of automation and nuclear energy people could travel in the near future where they got surprised by amazing demonstrations.
A circular gallery with typical American shops and drugstores was accessible by stairs.
Many performances with complicated requirements took place in the nearby theater which seated 1500 people.
One of the most important attractions of this contribution was the Circarama where a Walt Disney movie got projected by 360°.
