This cross was built in yhe XIXth Century in the backyard of Batalha's Main Church. It´s made of limestone and it was in this location that old processions started, at least the alignment of the participants.
When the starting point of the processions moved to the front of the church (because of changes in the streets surrounding the church) the cross was built.
