This station, a NH Department of Public Works and Highways standard bench mark disk, is located in Thornton, NH, in the White Mountain National Forest. It is set in the top northeast corner of a culvert carrying Smarts Brook under NH Rt. 49. The location is 0.7 southwest on NH Rt. 49 from the Thornton/Waterville Valley town line, at the foot of the Smarts Brook Trail. A parking area is at this location as well.
