The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple located in downtown is the largest Mormon temple. It has six major steeples, the center steeple facing east holds the statue of Angel Moroni. The gold figure of a heavenly messenger in flowing robes atop the Salt Lake Temple has become one of the Church’s most recognizable symbols. The statue above the Salt Lake Temple: 12 feet, 5 inches. This temple took forty years to build and it is a magnificent building with beautiful steeples but the unique one is with the Angel Moroni on it.
