These murals at their Public Works facility celebrate the hard work done by the unsung heroes of the public works department--the people who work overtime so that we can take basic services for granted. Farley spent a week with 29 city employees and photographed them as they went about their work. He focused on their hands and arms to honor not just the specific individual he met, but also all those who labor in public works, in the past, present, and future. These images graphically express the range of services provided by the City of Frisco to its citizens and open their minds to the importance of their local government in their everyday lives. City employees feel honored by their inclusion in such monumental artwork, and take even more pride in their work. Both employees and visiting citizens feel welcomed into a complex that clearly honors people for the crucial work they do for their fellow citizens.
