The chapel is still in active use today.
The Wesleyan Reform movement started in 1849 by members of the Wesleyan Methodists who wanted a more democratic organisation.
In Addingham the members of the reform movement had to wait until 1861, before they had enough funds to build their own chapel. Until that time they used the Oddfellows Lodge, a building that no longer exists.
