The Bomaderry Railway Station is the last station on the South Coast Line which is part of the CityRail Network. Expansion further south was prevented by the refusal to build a bridge over the Shoalhaven River. It opened on 2 June 1893 & features an historic jib crane & turntable. The railway station has a large awning, a waiting room covered in murals painted by students from Bomaderry High School, a booking office, an expansive parking area, bus interchange & the internal wall is covered in stag horns (plants).
Apart from passenger services there are regular freight trains providing raw materials for the largest ethanol distillery & starch factory in Australia, Manildra.
Passengers travel by rail motor to Kiama where they change for an electrified service to Sydney. There are eight tunnels between Bomaderry & Kiama & it was deemed too expensive to extend electrification to Bomaderry.
