The pattern is impressive itself, but the story behind the barn is even more extraordinary.

The blue and gold pattern seem to spin across the top of this barn. The pattern is impressive itself, but the story behind the barn is even more extraordinary. It was back in the 1950’s when it was decided to re-route the highway…right through the middle of this barn. In order to comply with the wishes of the farm family the DOT took the barn down and moved it piece by piece to a new foundation a distance from the intended highway. “Clay’s Choice” has a solid foundation on N Avenue (Hwy 4) north of Jefferson and is listed as #3 on the Greene County Barn Quilt map.
Your Visit:
My husband’s cousin is the chairperson for the Greene County Barn Quilts and it was a special thrill to have our own personal guided tour. Her special stories added a lot to our enjoyment of these barn quilts.
