The city and province of Surat Thani both lie ~600kms south of Bangkok on the eastern side of the long Malay peninsular. Surat is one of the larger towns in the south of Thailand. Running west of the town, effectively by-passing the town itself, is the train line from Bangkok to Malaysia. Even though the city is not on the line, there is a city station, which lies ~10kms west of the town centre.
Outside this station, ~50m north, in the carpark, is this small, but attractively designed, four faced clock. The clock can be seen across the entire area of the train station. It also has the virtue of functionality.
